UPDATE: PROBLEM SOLVED: suggestions for a new video card

so i got a samsung 205bw yesterday (20" wide screen) and my excitement turned to rage when i discovered my quadro nvs 280 SD doesn't support 1680x1050! nvidia's documentation isn't clear but seems to suggest that resolution is supported... ugh. i'm going to try dell support as well (double ugh) and their forum but i'm preparing for the worst.

so here's what i'm looking for, in order of importance (first two are obviously required):

AGP 4x/8x
supports 1680x1050!!!!
budget card, $100 or less if possible)
reliable for DAW work
dual DVI output (two ports or splitter cable, i don't care) for my HDTV

i'll live if i don't get HDTV output i suppose...

thanks in advance

OK, I'll take a shot at it....

    XFX GeForce 6800 XT 256MB DDR3 AGP

A wee bit over $100 though.

saw that one. it is over budget but the thing that worries me is the power supply requirement of 500w... of course there are very few power supplies that actually can put out 500 watts but i don't want the card to be sucking down all the power.

Check Microcenter. They have several GeForce 256 MB videocards under $100. I snagged one a while back, when I noticed it was becoming harder to find AGP cards. Supports 1600x1200.
