Dim Pro as a drum sampler

Anyone using Dimension Pro as a drum sampler?

If so, can you help me understand how you are using it, what samples, GM mapping etc...

Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

Make sure to checkout all these SFZ kits for DP... http://www.smartloops.com/products/samplesets/

It comes with a series of drum kit presets, add a midi drum track and play. That is about it.

Usually I would have several instances of DMPro running; one each for kick, snare, hats, toms and cymbals.

I use it less now that Sonar 6 comes with Session Drummer 2.

So if you have midi drum tracks mapped out to General Midi you load a GM kit into Session Drummer 2?

SD2 uses a similar (or is it the same) audio engine as DimensionPro and Rapture. The midi files are played using samples defined in sfz files (they are mapped as GM drums). Sonar 6 comes with a few sample kits. There are also free and for fee kits available and, of course, you can roll your own from wav and ogg samples.
