slow down audio

what is required to slow down audio, like the way it sounds when a tape based machine dies out? i'm a bit clueless on what to look for, i'm using MC Pro as my main tracking program and edit in Sound Forge.
thank you.

Wickerman--Easier than things mentioned on that thread--You already have the tool you need right there in Sound Forge: Pitch Bend. It's so cool. Select the portion of the 2 track you want, open up the Pitch Bend window, and you can fine tune that bend to your heart's content. Then, use the time stretch tool to have the tempo also slowing down. Instant "tape machine dying."

ther are also some free vst effects that you could run on your stereo mix that will allow you to easily control the speed and make it slow down naturally.

google free vst scratchdown, that's one of them.
there is a few better ones out there too.
I'm away from my recording computer so I cant think of their names right now.

I was able to do this by accident when I used my HD24 as an external sync device. I had a song playing on Sonar and I turned off the HD24. The audio slowed down to nothing.
