S3, track select doesn't follow audio edits?

S3, track select doesn't follow audio edits?

I'm looking at a screen full of wave forms. Let's say I have track 10 selected, but spot something on track 1 that I want to copy/paste. I highlight the clip, and copy it. When I paste, it doesn't go to track 1, it goes to track 10!

I don't know how many dozens of times this has happened. I suppose it's simple enough to first select the track in which I want to do edits, but I don't think that way. I'd like track select to follow my editing selection. Is this an option?

    Sonar will always copy/paste into the selected track. If you want to copy or paste on the same track than you have to select that track. As far as I now every sequencer works in that way.

    I get a Paste dialog box that asks me which Track I want as the destination. I wonder why you're not seeing one?

    You can turn this option off (to ask you every time where you want to paste). Maybe he turned this option off (I also don't use this) so he don't see the dialog box.

    Yeah, I see it but my fingers work faster than my brain so as often as not I choose to paste to the wrong track.
