New Songs!
Hey guys, how we doing today! I added some more music of mine on Acidplanet.com. I'm just curious what you all think of the first song, entitled: "I'll Never Forget You." I think it's the first song I actually did, that I haven't gotten crazy over! Lol. Anyway, I'm really proud of it. I know it needs more instruments, but for now, I just want to know your guys honest opinion of it. Haven't shown it to anyone, even my wife! Thanks everyone. Have a great day. Bryant ps some of the stuff is recorded with my old sigmatel audio (eww, yuck!) I'm sure you'll hear the difference Here is the link: http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=543244&T=5147

Hey, Bryant! Excellent work! Loved the song itself. It has class. This one sounds much better than the last one(s) I remember hearing and that's due both to your mixing skills improving and due to the new sound card. This mix sounds really good. One thing I would suggest is that it is just a tad muddy, you could clean it up just a little with a little well placed EQ. Other than that, it is obvious that you're getting much better at this stuff!

Bryant - wonderful guitar playing!! You've got a lot of skills. I'm always amazed when I hear people play the guitar like you. It simply impresses me how much you can get out of this instrument ... I really liked your tune - you're right though, more instruments (especially keys and drums) would sound really cool. The rhythm guitar (I hope I say that right) in the background sounds really good too. Thanks for sharing your song with us. Heinz.

Nice guitar work Bryant i like this very much, and agree this one needs some power drums and a tad of bass.

The melodies on never forget are superb, you're a really good guitarist. i wish i could solo like that, the overall sound quality has improved much since the last stuff we heard - it still seems to lack a bit of punch to me....that could be due to the lack of bass and drums though - they do make a big difference. where are you at with drums? how about us two putting a tune together? I can provide a drum beat - you the guitars and i can lay down a bass track and mix it down? let me know! otherwise, good job and i look forward to hearing more

Not everyone. I like it like it is. It's a tribute to loved ones gone on from this life....I think it speaks to me as such just as it is. I think power drums and kickin' bass would ruin the mood of the song. Just my opinion, tho.

If I remember correctly. I just ran a clean channel for my rythem through my digitech processor - no effects. The lead comes from (again if I remember correctly), my Free Amp 2 plugin. A couple forums back, I placed a link to the site' it's a free amp simulator/modulator. The lead was from the Free Amp 2 presets. I believe it was under the "Crunch" bank patch of presets, but I'll have to check. I just used "dry distortion" from my processor, and than painted over it with the Free Amp 2. It's great cause you don't have to "mic" an amp, or even use one for that matter. I'm not home. At work being productive as always. Lol. http://frettedsynth.asseca.com/ampsims.html#FreeAmp2

Yeah, it definitely needs some other elements to it, not a bad song, by any means, just something's lacking. Try adding some drums to it, not the power drums as suggested, but a light track with some side-sticking on the snare and lightly drowned in reverb. This is a ballad, so maybe some piano to add textures, the other direction you could go is synth pads or even strings. A bass is also vital for holding things in the song together. I think a fretless sound would do wonders for this track. There ya have it, just my opinion. Hope it can help.

Sorry for the late response, I've been out of pocket for awhile. Incredible talent on guitar! I have to agree with the others that there's a few things that could be added to make it even better than it already is. I know I've mentioned this before but I still think vocals would be a really nice addition. I also understand about the lack of vocal skills being a factor. I have learned (since my own vocal skills are mediocre at best) that the current and cutting-edge technology in digital recording permits us disguise a multitude of sins where poor vocals are a factor. Just something to chew on. Pete

pete, that is true about vocals, i'm sure you have a much better voice than you think - 'you're the one' vocals sounds great....i can't see you having a bad base (vocals) to start from. some of us however don't have a good base to start from (me for a great example LOL), and you can polish a turd...but if it started out as a turd, chances are it'll still be a turd after it's all said and done. and shiney turds stick out really bad!!!!

My voice, for I've been told, sounds almost identical to Bob Dylan's, with a touch of Kurt Cobain on the top. Strange! I guess its unique though. I'll try and record me singing on a future song. Thank you Peter Rabbit for the suggestion, as well as everyone else who contributed to the reviews towards this song. Again, thank you all. ps Peter Rabbit, you do have a great singing voice. Don't discredit yourself at all. Your work is very good. Bryant
