Sonar4 seperate tracks?

Hi im pretty new to Cake Walk,how do i keep the tracks seperate what i record ?eg i put a drum machine on track 1 with the controls panned to the left ,on track 2 i put guitar with the pan to the right when i play the song back and mute the drum track i can still hear the drums comming out on what should be just a guitar track any advise welcome cheers Ryan!

    Sounds like you are trying to create stereo from what is already stereo. If your drum track is on one track then try centering it and also center your guitar track. If you want to hear just one track then mute the other or solo the one that you want to hear.

    Did you record the drums first? What sound card are you using? If it is a Soundblaster, make sure What-u-hear is turned off. If it is a built-in soundcard, uncheck Stereo Mix.

    Hi thank you for the advise, i have been reading up on this forum i am begining to think it is the sound card that is causing the tracks to bleed .Looks like im going to have to invest in a new one the one im using is Real Tek somone else was having the same prob cheers anyway thanks Ryan.
