Transient Alert Message when Starting Sonar

Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this alert message when starting Sonar 6 PE.

"Transients are in the process of being generated. Depending upon project settings, playback may be different until the process is complete."

I'm assuming this has something to do with the AudioSnap. This project is the only one that I have tried the AudioSnap on and it's been a while since I've opened this project but the first time I've ever encountered this alert. No big deal, by the time I took a print screen of the error message, hit OK and the hit Play everything seemed to play without any problem.

Has anyone else seen this?

Pete

I'm getting this error as well, followed by a fatal error message - can't figure it out.

Just loaded Sonar 8.5 64 bit on to a new computer running Windows 7.  Opened up a file I created in the past, got the transients pop up box you describe above, then about 45 seconds later a fatal error pop up.  Oddly, I can continue to edit and save the song, but once I close the song Sonar freezes up and has to be force closed.

Could be the AudioSnap process -- I am using it in this file and not the others I've been opening.

I get this message whenever I open a project that has an 'audiosnapped' track. To avoid it, disable Audiosnap before saving.

I've never had a related fatal error.

I can't find a clip that I have audiosnap enabled on.  I even selected all clips and disabled audio snap globally but still get this messege.

    Hi,

    Resurrecting an old thread...

I've just upgraded to Sonar 8.5.2 from 8.3.1.  I've tried loading up an old project and get the error ""Transients are in the process of being generated. Depending upon project settings, playback may be different until the process is complete."

It loads fine in 8.3.1- but when I get the error in 8.5.2, it allows me to play it but misses lots of different notes from different tracks (e.g. DR008, CS80v etc- seems random).

I had the same sound problem in 8.3.1 for this song when I had the Transiwent Shaper on a drum track, removed it and it played ok- so saved in 8.3.1- but it won't play properly in 8.5.2.  I've checked allo tracks/busses for any Transient Shaper- and it's nowhere in the song.

Does anyone have a solution to this (apart from just playing the song in 8.3.1!)?

    Cheers

    Rik

That error relates to Audio snap not the transient shaper.  Check your tracks for Audio Snap.

    Hi lorneyb2,

Yes, I've tried that too.  I bounced all tracks to clips that had audio in them to be sure- but still have the same issue,

    Cheers

Just been playing around...when I have the soundcard (Echo Mia Midi) on high latency (i.e. 46.4 msecs) which I normally use for mixing, it is all out of time, yet when I change it to 2.9 msecs it works fine!  8.3.1 never went that low in latency with this tune- and it now plays without breaking a sweat ..but does anyone know why increasing the latency would throw it all out?  At high latency it sounds like there is a slight fade in if that might have anything to do with it?

Oh..and that message no longer appears after re-saving when lower latency.   Bizarre...

    Cheers

I've also experienced timing issues when using SONAR at higher latency settings.  At 60ms settings the TTS-1 synth will get all squirrely even when it is the only softsynth playing back nothing more than a midi song file.

I just keep my latency set down to 10 ms or less. (Normally as low as it will go.)
