LiveCut and Glitch VSTs.

Ok, I installed the latest versions of both through the VST wrapper. I use Project 5, version 2. But I can't get either to actually DO ANYTHING.

I can actually get Glitch's top level controls to affect sound - like changing the Master Filter or increasing the gain on the Overdrive. But getting it to do any sort of Warping or stuttering? Nada.

Anytime I flip on LiveCut on a track, the sound disappears altogether.

I know some people here use these plugins. What am I doing wrong?

You need to ensure they are set up as tempo synced effects in the adapter (when you get the plugin list, highlight the one you want and choose Properties...the option you need is in there).

Also, in the case of Glitch (and possibly LiveCut), it has a built-in sequencer which will not work if you drop the effect onto a track whilst P5 is already playing...you need to stop P5 then restart playback to get the plugin's sequencer to work.

I recently installed the most current VST adapter (against my better instincts) and lost the use of my CamelAudio plugins. Tempo synced box was checked and I could even get them working if they were used only on audio. But any synth I tried them on....forget it.

The VST wrapper sux. Sorry...It just does, for me anyways. I reinstalled P5 again (cuz there's no option to install the wrapper only) and made sure I didnt install any synths or plugins (just program files). After throwing the 2.01 patch on, I was good to go again. I wonder if the VST wrapper isn't the cause for many of P5ers problems?

with an older version of the vst wrapper, (I never updated to the beta versions) Live Cut works for me

I don't think I ever got Glitch to work for me. There are a handful of glitch fx that never worked, but Live Cut did.
My sense is that P5's routing of audio and midi is different from soem other hosts
( for example we know that midi data isn't passed along from instruments that output the midi )

so I just figured some of these fx just won't work -- but like I said Live Cut does work for me

I would like to find ouit more why some work and some do not
Having gone through the 4 day ordeal (mostly brought on myself) of installing and authorizing NI Komplete 4, there are a handful of NI fx for FM8 and Absynth and Pro 53 that don't output any sound -- though I see the midi data lights lighting etc.
while B4 ii fx and Reaktor fx in the same package do work

There may be some setting I'm missing either in the vst wrapper or the NI fx. If anyone has a clue how to get these NI fx working in P5, please let me know.
I have never gotten the 3 mentioned to work and would very much like to.
I will check and see if the tempo-sync'd flag is set this evening

dblue glitch works here. I'm not in front of the daw but as I recall either the disable midi or disable transport buttons at the upper left need to be pushed by default.

dblue Glitch and LiveCut both work fine for me...Glitch works without changing anything at all on my system. The only annoyance I have with Glitch is that if I am messing around with the Groove Matrix and drop Glitch onto a track, then I have to stop and then start the 'global' play button in order to get the internal sequencer working...it's not Glitch's fault though, more to do with VST and the play engine.

    thank otter, 3-eyed,
    for the clarification

i'll give it another go this weekend

Live Cut is what it is, but I only find one mode useful and tend to cut that back quite a bit
