Project Tempo

I have no problem setting the project tempo for a NEW project, but when I copy an existing project, and even when I delete ALL the clips, the project tempo will only change for selected areas.

Is there a way to globally change the tempo over the whole of an existing project without using the tempo "graph"?

I also find the graph difficult to use, it's hard to selet the exact tempo you want and difficult to drag it accross the whole of the project.

Is there some basic feature here I'm missing?

Thanks.

Well, if you look at the tempo map... check the right hand side that lists all of the tempo changes. Select these and delete them (there's a red X, if I remember correctly). It may need to keep one of these as the initial tempo, but removing any other tempo changes will keep the project consistent. They sort of work like markers... just delete all extras.

Thanks. I wasn't understanding that from reading the documentation. I will check it out tonight. Thanks again.

    No problem.

I'm not saying it's definitely the solution, but it could be as simple as that! Good luck!

One way that I've done it is to open the Tempo map, zoom out to maximum view, select the 'line' drawing tool, and draw a line from right to left of the tempo I wish the project to be at. Works very quickly and very well.

The reason I draw the line from right to left is because when I tried doing it from left to right (start to end) it would always leave a tiny tempo change at the very start of the song. Not that it would be a problem, but I just didn't like it.
