Gotta have ACT in P5 2.5

The more I mess with ACT in sonar 6, the more I want it in P5. It's not perfect, but it soure gives more control with less funking around. I love the way the controller functions change depending on what's in "focus".

Its quite a good feature that is in sonar that allows you to set up a midi device to control the active part of your screen. So if the compressor is active it will give you control of the compressor. If dim pro was active then it would give you control over dim pros functions. If you then opened another dim pro in another project another day , then the knobs would already be automatically mapped the same way it was the last time.

I hope something like ACT is coming. Not sure though since it is a major selling point for going from Sonar 5 to 6.
In the P5 Blog, "Improved Automation" is one of the items listed. Maybe that's what they mean?

ACT is so perfect for P5 because P5 is all about soft synths and effects. Being able to control them woth ACT would be a huge workflow enhancement. I hope by "improved automation" that they mean Read and Write automation a la Sonar 6.

Hi greg, alls good...hope you are the same. I still use p5 as my main creation engine, sonar brings other strengths to the party.
When I first tried ACT it was a bit of a PITA, but once I understood the layout and got it working.....it is great. Every time you open a synths property page and give it focus your keyboard is controlling that synth. You get to pick the parameters that are controlled if you don't like the defaults. It is way ccol. Like everything you have a learning curve.

I was hoping for automap with my remote sl, still waiting but ACT is pretty exciting.

I'm in an endless cycle of make it, tweak it, love it, hate it, erase it.
