Need suggestions for a Reggae Bass Guitar?

Note that I am new to this, but I am looking for a nice basic bass guitar to use with midi in Sonar. I am looking for the sound that is found in some reggae like Matisyahu, and Lee Perry "Rude Walking". I have tried Dimension Pro, Trilogy, and Broomstick, but nothing sounds right. I am looking for a nice plain deep bass, that doesn't sound like a synthesizer.
Any suggestions?
