DimPro vsti NG + S6.01 VSTScan ALWAYS

I do have the sonar6.01pe upgrade
I've been trying out Sonar6PE prior to moving projects into it.

Recently I started arranging plugin's in the plugin manager - mainly to give them friendly names and create plugin menus.

This morning on starting S6pe the vstscan started up and gave several error messages

#1 error was the vstscan couldn't find Ogg.dll and Vorbis.dll. (The only place I had these was in Vsampler which I disabled and in Nero 6 which is permenently disabled according to the vstscan)

#2. then it reported Dimension pro bad because of "Open Editor" but dimension pro was NOT open at the time.

After this, the VSTscan starts EVERYTIME I try to open S6pe with the same messages as in #1.

I tried reinstalling s6pe which went fine except that at the very end the installer said finished but would not close by itself. I closed it manually and then upgraded to 6.01pe
Same results VST always starts up when I start up S6.01pe

Once s6.01pe is open Dimension ProVSTi always gives this error message when opening files
"unknown opcode fx internal
unknown opcode fx internal
unknown opcode fx internal"

It also will not open expansion pack 1 or 2 complaining
"error uncompressing program data"
BUT the Dxi version of Dimension Pro works fine.

OBTW S5.02 still works fine - with both version of Dimension Pro and exPac 1 and 2 and it does no scan on startup. I have NOT tried to rescan plugin's fearing it would screw things up

I'm also going to post this on the Sonar web site this weekend
Any Ideas?

I can't help with the Sonar6 part, Fred, but if I had to venture a guess on this ...
Dimension ProVSTi always gives this error message when opening files
    "unknown opcode fx internal
    unknown opcode fx internal
    unknown opcode fx internal"

It also will not open expansion pack 1 or 2 complaining
    "error uncompressing program data"
... it sounds like the Dimension Pro 1.2 update didn't take. Have you checked for multiple Dimension Pro.dlls on your hard drive (other than one for the VSTi folder, and one for DXi)?

    You-da-man!!!!

FANTASTIC - Fixed the DPro issue (had 2 dll's somehow.
    No on to the VSTScan

    Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Fred

    rescan ALSO Solved!

I DID have "rescan existing plugins" checked not realizing that when checked it defaulted to always scan on start
    Lesson Learned - thanks

I can't hardly believe that...when you gonna get SONAR 6?

Well, I ... er, you see ... As much as I can always use a new add-on , I just recently jumped off the auto-upgrade train. So originally I was waiting for the dust to settle, and then I thought that I'd have Zac [Cakewalk] convince me on the Tour. I ended up missing both of the semi-local tour stops. I still have a vision of the Poly Evolver haunting my dreams nightly, and then there's the matter of the 'unearthly still' on this forum. Just like last year, and you know what that means ...

I don't think that's too difficult to do, Fred. We have the original installation, the update, and (some of us had) Dimension 'Lite'. We've got the VSTi and DXi versions, and a choice on where to install each one. Add to that new hosts, Adapter upgrades, and the endless synth shuffle; often spaced months apart. I personally like having the options, but it just means that we all have to be extra-careful when we're updating synths. Some overwrite, some don't, and some have no idea where we decided to stash the last version.

Hee hee...I didn't purchase Rapture when it came out, but I was planning on the SONAR 6 upgrade (automatic, right?).

But then that SONAR + Rapture special happened and bam! they got my money again! So, now Project5 gets two really nice add-on software extension packages on my system.
