Strange Sounds After Using P5v2 for a While

Hello:

I am still getting the hang of this program after using SONAR for a couple of years (currently on 5.2P). While using P5v2 on my laptop I have encountered some strange behavior at times. For example, pushing play will suddenly result in strange fluttering audio when it was playing fine just before. It's the same sort of noise I initially got when justification settings were not correct. Sometimes exiting P5 and reopening it solves this problem and sometimes I need to reboot the computer to solve it.

I've not had the same problem on my desktop system, although I don't use P5 nearly as much on that system so I may not have put in enough time for it to occur there. Any ideas?

    The barrage of reset messages generated by Project5 might be causing that, especially if there a big differential between your desktop and laptop specs. It's sent to every track, and it happens every* time that you click on a transport control, or even click anywhere along the timeline. And there is (currently) no way to override this behavior.

    * This is not generated by the Record button if Play has already been engaged. Otherwise, it is, just as with the other conditions above.

    Here's the list of reset messages taken directly from the MFX PortDiag. It was shuffled through the MIDIOut plugin, listed in reverse order of when it occurred, and it is the result of a single mouse click on the timeline:

    Huh?

    Forgive me but I am a complete MIDIot and I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. The specs of my machines are in my signature and processor and RAM wise are pretty close.

    Also, this behavior happens when I am recording and playing audio tracks as well as MIDI tracks.

    And finally, is this issue going to be corrected in v2.5? (I hope.)

    In short, it may be because of overload on the CPU. Just check the cpu usage on the top right hand corner. Whenever there is such noise you click on it to reset. Hope it helps.
