Adobe Acrobat Reader
I just made the mistake of installing Adobe Acrobat Reader on my DAW. NOw there's an icon on the desktop, another icon in the system tray, plus a function that constantly asks me if I want to "check for updates." Help guys! How do I get this app to sit down and shut up until I ASK it to do something?

If using Windows XP, Go to Start | Run Type msconfig Click on the Startup Tab Uncheck all the Acrobat-related items Click OK Restart

whats this got to do with sonar ? Uh- If it's on the system tray and taking up CPU cycles, then it is impeding the performance of my sequencer software while tracking, editing, or while performing any other functions with Sonar. Perhaps I should have constructed my query differently to appease HammerHead: Like this, perhaps: "Hey guys how do I deal with Adobe Acrobat so that it will not appear on the desktop and the system tray and impede the performance of SONAR." If using Windows XP, Go to Start | Run Type msconfig Click on the Startup Tab Uncheck all the Acrobat-related items Click OK Restart Ahh... excellent. that did the trick, and I thank you ghijkmnop.

Acrobat Reader is a nice utility to have. ok. i dont install anything but sonar & audio software on my daw partition, instead choosing stability. i'm especially careful of anything from vendors like adobe that fill their software installs with glut that tries to take over your pc.
