Metronome out to VST?

I can't seem to get my metronome to work. How do I direct the metronome output to a VST?

Thanks
Ian

I believe Phrauge is saying, in a nicer way than some might put it, to search the site before posting a message, since the metronome issue has been covered in hundreds of messages before.

I didn't have any doubt as to what he was saying, I was just being cocky.

I subsequently did do the search and found the whole Metronome thread.

The reason I never bothered searching in the first place was because I assumed I was probably doing something stupid. It never crossed my mind that Cakewalk would have left out the necessity of routing the metronome through something other than hardware.

While you're searching, look me up on the topic. I did get assaulted by the angry mob of villagers for adding a post on this beyond-the-dead-horse topic (so you don't have to feel so bad). I still think it was an OK idea, and I think it does provide one answer to what you're looking for.
