2 Dim Pro Problems

Dim Pro

Problem #1
I've uninstalled and re-installed with all of the updates.
Still can't load a single Expansion Pak Program.
I recieve and error message that says "Error uncompressiong program data - Program failed to load"

Problem #2
I get a text message when I load up an original program that came with Dim Pro:
The program loads and plays ok (with respect to the Original Programs that came with Dim Pro) but I get a NotePad message that I always have to close to proceed.

Both problems sound like the Dimension Pro 1.2 update didn't take. Click on the DIMENSIONPRO logo of the instance that you're using, and check that the splash screen says "Version 1.2." Do a seach of your hard drive(s) for the Dimension Pro.dll. If you have both the DXi and VSTi versions installed, you should have two instances of the library. One under Shared DXi, and another in your VST Folder, and both should read 1.2.0.214 or similar. Any more than that, or a library with 1.0.0.xxx, and there's your problem.

    Hi b rock:
You da man!!! The old .dll 1.0.0.xxx was still in there messing things up. After deleting all the DP .dll files (after the search) and program files I re-installed and all is working. One old .dll made it all corrupted!
    Thanks,
    Gary

P.S. Now I'm wondering if I can edited the Program Browser to group patches from the Expansion Paks into the main catagory folders so I have all instruments gouped in one location. Do you think this will foul things up again.

You can put program files (.progs) wherever you want. You can do it in an open (Windows XP) Explorer window. If you don't see them after the re-arrangement, press F5 to refresh the Browser display. Personally, I wouldn't mess with the Multisample structure that they refer to, though. If you have to, make copies of the wavfiles underneath.

As far as your multiple .dlls, that's been happening a lot. We've got open-ended choices on where to put everything, so each new installer can present a potential problem. You just have to pick a scheme that works for you, then be careful to remain consistent.
