Thanks Cakewalk for not telling me (FIXED)

CORRECTION: I will even leave the original post up to show humility. I found that my Tranzport was causing some dll issues when shutting down Sonar. It was not the web trial verion of Sonar 6.

I will say that I am still having a problems with my MIDI controller (M-Audio Axiom 49). It was working fine prior to Sonar 6 web trial install. I can now no longer get any audio regardless of what soft synth I use. Sonar is recognizing the Axiom and it is highlighted in both the input and output field of the MIDI set up window. Is it possible for a MIDI controller to die?

THE FOLLOWING WAS THE ORIGINAL POST CREATED BY HOWIEIZME. WHO, AT THE TIME, WAS IN DAW HELL.

Thanks for nothing Cakewalk.

You offer a web trial of your SOnar 6. What you Fail to mention is that I should uninsall Sonar 5.2 first. Well, now my who system is jacked up. I find it funny that even though I uninstalled the web trial after I started having problems, that a Sonar 6 web trial folder still exists in my cakewalk folder. Thanks for leaving traces of a program that is jacking my system up. When will the word uninsall ever mean UNINSTALL?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

BS man I knew I should have just let things be. Now no music making over the holidays. Was really looking forward to it. BS.

MIDI controller no longer works. Can't use any soft synths, I get absolutly NO SOUND. Plus every time I close Sonar now I get the ever popular Sonar has encountered a problem and needs to close. F@$% BS.

Just for the record, I have both installed and have none of the problems you mentioned. I'm waiting for another update to 6 before making any total commitment. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, but I can't even begin to imagine why your having them.

I don't know how CW is handling the SHARED folder with the demo install, but every version of Sonar overwrites the Shared files if there is a newer one in the install package.

For the Not for Resale version, I know the shared folders get overwritten, and CW supplies no way to roll back.

I would suggest you look to see if Windows created a restore point just before the S6 install. Your old Shared dlls may have been saved.
Restore will backup your current config before the restore, so it is fairly safe, I never had a problem.

I can't say what happened on your PC, but I have ProAudio 9 thru S6 on my machine, all working as well as they were meant to work.

xackley said it already.. for many (including me) installing new versions never created any problem (yes, while leaving the old version installed) -
