You guys who use this...do you like it for its controller functions or because it's wireless and you can move it to another location

Both! For recording yourself, its the catsass.

I record myself all day long and don't need a wireless controller to do so...
I'd rather have something that was the cats meow...

The only way I could show you my gadget was to add it to my profile on the left.

Tacky Gadget!!!

Here is a little something I made for a friend who wanted to learn the guitar. It is just a little gadget that you can pactice chord shapes on It took about 2 mins to make out of a small staple box. Comes in quite handy when you get bored at the office!

As far as I know, the AlphaTrack is not yet available, but will be sometime this month. That may very well be my second favorite gadget (next to my Access Virus Polar TI) once I get my dirty little hands on one.

I too love the Tranzport. Sometimes I sit right in front of my US2400 (which I really like as well) and still use the Tranzport. It is so easy to grab it with both hands and punch away at the buttons with both thumbs. It is so easy to set punch points and undo takes very quickly. I have mine mounted on one of those mic stands with the quick grip adjustment and can just go over to the keyboard or guitar or inside the vocal booth and set it to just the right height. Really really cool unit.

Top Three:

1) Tranzport. I swear, if you've ever had to track yourself, you won't know how you managed without either this or a 32 bar count in. (ugh).
2) MesaBoogie Rectoverb 50. The single most versatile amp I've ever owned. I'll never go back to Marshall (I've had 4 of those).
3) Shure KSM27. I love this mic. I use it for everything. Well, okay, I use it for my voice and the acoustic guitars. But I still love this mic.

My favorite gadget of the moment is a planet waves pick strobe tuner for the guitar. Even my wife is impressed and she doesn't play guitar!!! This thing is wicked and cost me about minus £5 cause the box of strings it "came free with" was mispriced. Of course this will all change next week, but for now...
Oddly,

The Alesis Air FX is quite fun and simple. Very tactile way of adding effects.
If only it could be used as a midi controller...

ohhey:

I bought the J-Station largely based on your reviews and posts of your experience and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I liked it so much I also got the J8 pedal and even bought a Johnson Marquis JM60 amp. Now I have the best of both worlds being able to record direct through the J-Station, mic the JM60, or any combination of the two.

I wanted to thank you for your glowing endorsement.

Definately my Mackie Baby Hui...getting a little old now but still beats a lot of the competition. Where else can you get an 8 channel Midi controller with touch sensitive/automated faders etc etc etc etc.

Yeah its a little old but still looks awesome. Apart from that probably my 19" widescreen TFT's.....such a space increaser.
