M-Audio Keystation 61es USB MIDI controller and Sonar?

Does anyone know if the M-Audio Keystation 61es (or the 49e) USB MIDI controller has compatiblity problems with Sonar 6 when you use ASIO drivers for your sound card? I went to the M-Audio website to search for info about this MIDI controller and found that the Keystation has a WMD driver and is compatible with MME drivers. I don't know if this creates a problem if you are running Sonar and want to use ASIO drivers. Could somebody please set me straight on this! Thanks.

I don't know about using ASIO as the specific driver for M-audio Products, but I have a Oxygen 8, a Radium, 49 and a Trigger Finger connected USB using the drivers that installed by default, pluse my Roland RS 61 key Synth that all play well together.

    Peace

Jesse G: You say you're using an M-Audio Keystation 49e with Sonar? But what driver does your soundcard use when you record with Sonar? Is it WMD or ASIO? If you use WMD, that would match the driver type that comes with the Keystation. Could you please clarify by answering the above questions for me?

There should be no problem. I use a 49e with Sonar 5.2 under ASIO and WDM drivers with no problems. I cant see there being much of a difference with Sonar 6 on this issue.

Windows 7 Pro 64bit, Core i7 920, Asus p6td deluxe, Sonar X1c PE, Motu 2408 mk3, Apogee Mini DAC, 3x UAD-1, Digimax FS, Motu Microlite, MCU, Tranzport, Nocturn. And more...

Just to be sure I understand you: You are using Sonar 5.2 with an ASIO driver for your sound card/application, and you have no problems using M-Audio's Keystation 49e USB MIDI controller, which apparently runs with a WMD driver that comes with it to install?

    Oops. I made a mistake.

The manual for the Keystation 49e says, "If you are using Windows XP or Mac Os X, you can simply move the keyboard's power switch to the "ON" position. Because the Keystation line of keyboards is class compliant, the unit will work without any further installation. If you are using an operating system other than Mac Os X or Windows XP, please refer to our website at www.m-audio.com for the latest Keystation drivers for Macintosh or Windows operating systems."

So, if you're using Windows XP there is no driver to install.

I use a Presonus Firepod using ASIO drivers. but I never noticed if M-Audio is using Asio Drives or not. Never looked at it to see, I just play the darn thing. LOL

Thats correct. Ive used the supplied driver from the included disk and the windows class compliant driver. Both work fine.
