Quick Memory Question

I am purchasing components to upgrade my system. Buying the ASUS P5B Dlx / Core 2 Duo 6600, and have the following RAM question:

I am getting 2G (1Gx2) Corsair Twin 2x2048-6400 800MHz DDR2 RAM, which I will drop in for dual channel use.

Since there are two remaining RAM slots, can I drop in the two sticks from my older system which are:
1G (512 x 2) DDR 400 Kingston sticks? Will this add more memory to my system, or can you not have DDR2 and DDR on the same board, or 800MHz and 400MHz on the same board, or two different manufacturers on the same board?

Any and all input is very much appreciated.

    Two totally different types of RAM...
    Your new mobo requires DDR2.
