Dimension Pro samples: 16bit?

Hello everyone,

I have DimPro and as most of you know, I praise it whenever I have the chance. Here's a great example for the many Forum discussions on how 16 bits can and does sound great. Many blindly embrace 24bit recordings to be superior without taking into account the many variables that can make a recording great, like the quality of the converters, microphones, etc...

Samples in Dimension Pro were actually recorded at 24-bit/96kHz.
Many samples were downconverted to 16/44.1, but some (sensitive in dynamic range) were preserved and shipped in 24-bit, and even 32-bit.

As always, thanks for your reply René.

Yes, I knew that there were 24bit samples, but not the 32bit ones(wow!). The bottom line is that they sound good - regardless of the bit-depth. As long as they sound good, that's all that matters. And they sound great!

I started with Z3ta+. Love it. I downloaded the Rapture Demo to get a feel for the sound quality of Dimpro. I purchased Dimpro. It was not love at first sight with Dimpro, but after working with it a couple months I am in love. Even my non-audiophile wife appretiates the clarity of Dimpro vs some of my older hardware.

If cakewalk will run a special for Sonar, Project 5 or Dimpro owners with Rapture - I will pick it up as well.

I love Dimpro as well, but the only thing I find odd is the weird ping-pong distortion that happens when you stop the playback while auditioning sounds.
