Sample Conversion

Hi all, I saw in another forum something about a" Extreme Sample Converter",I have Rapture and Dimension Pro but am still getting a grip on the whole DAW thing, I've been planning on learning the sfz thing soon and am curiouse if anyone has used " Extreme Sample Converter" and if so can I tale any wave samples and make them playable in Rapture or Dim Pro?..I'm sure I will still need and want to learn sfz but wanted to know if converters actualy work,,,,,Thanks

ExSC is a terrific tool. I got it at a discount price thank to my Wusikstation purchase. Unless you have corrupted samples, it reads and translates things pretty well. Although it doesn't really handle super advanced programming translation. Some things are just too complicated to translate (i.e. some of the stuff in GigaStudio & Kontakt samples).

However, you don't really need a sample converter to use WAV files in Rapture or DimPro. You can drag-and-drop them into the GUI (at least you can in Rapture....I don't own DimPro yet); and you can create the SFZ format multisamples by making a simple text file. I'm not a guru on this, so if you're interested in SFZ, just search the forum and ask for help. Also, check out these links:

I have been using ESC for a while and it works pretty well for most formats.

If you want to learn the sfz format, it's not hard, especially if you are just mapping samples across the keyboard. There are some tricky things you can do with it like wave sequencing too.

Yep there are Well I use Awave and simply convert to sfz. ESC can too but I bet on Awave and am very happy.

Please note that some sample stuff like SonicSynth, Atmosphere and the like are not open to use outside the player. But there is so much stuff. Drums? try smartloops. Precissionsounds has some There is just to much fun stuff Where is Frank? HE RELEASED SOME GOOD ONES JUST LATELY.
