    crabs,

I like what's here so far. It doesn't sound too cluttered to me, but I tend to be very cluttered myself. I know this is a rough mix but the drums seem too loud and the vox sound way too soft. For future development, you might consider adding a melody or two to pull things along. Or perhaps you're leaving space for a rap?

    Nice start.

    yea! this is very original.
I'm not a big fan of the strings, I felt like they didn't fit with the crunk feel the beat had.

    Crab,

dón't mind the strings, myself, tho it might help to have some sustained notes and bits thrown in. And I don't think it is too cluttered.

Otherwise, I don't have much to say. Nice piece.

Thanks Blipp welcome back. Hope you like the vocals

@AT- First version was way too slow. That's something I figured out this go round. I after I make my beats I need to search for the right tempo! I got it to my liking and I think it improves the way it comes off.

Eonic- Awesome see if you like the newer version

10 - Im workin on it. Thanks for listening.

oh well... I wasn't a big fan of the lyrics... sounded like it wasn't in harmony with the rest.

    but then, that's personnal opinion.

OTOH, I like the beat a lot, listened to the two new remixed versions, I prefered the louder version, the lyrics seemed to sit better in the mix...

    Thanks Seb,

Your too young to remember this joint. Personally I thought it was a jam, and so do many others (maybe just not here). :) Anyway I just wanted to dress it up but the keys/harmonies may not match. But it wasnt meant to. Even though the beat is sped up from the slower first one the vox is still slower then its original tempo. But it was fun mixing and such. Many times I throw theory to the wind and go for my ear.

Yeah the little louder mixer is better cause I took down some of that obnoxiously high end. But this song is a perfect example of tune that could have been fixed in the mix. Audibly this track whatever it ends up becoming will sound much cleaner.

All the work I did was with the original mp3 export, and the mix wasnt right. But that is the beauty of this forum. You put something out there you think is ready, but then you see how much better you can make it. I need to sit on my tracks more until their done. I just got so many! I cant stop makin new ones, trying new things!

The real victory with this one for me was

    1. The vox treatment
    2. Learning that even though I may compose my beats at a certain tempo they may be best heard at another one.
    3. Master the mix, then master.
    4. Making Tom's Diner fit in this abbreviated instrumental.

    peace

nah, I don't know this tune at all, I didn't even know whether it was some lyrics you got somewhere on the web or if it was a sample...

but then, I like your philosophy... go forward, and learn from what you did...

    Seb,

PM's are enabled. Yeah Im not sure I get the whole harmonies matching thing yet. I cant quite believe that my whole song has to be in the same key. Cause sometimes I'll stray and it works. So I still have to learn that idea. You probably know more on that topic! ;)

Hi Crab, I like strings and that is nicely used here from the very first version. But I'm not sure about the vocals. May be it did not sit properly.

    Nice work on the whole.

I listened to the 'loud' version and like the way things are progressing. Keep at it.
