ASIO driver question
OK, so I just re-set up my little studio area and I have three pieces of equipment that use ASIO drivers. I have my E-Mu 1820, my Roland SH-201 and my POD XT. Since I only record myself and some selected friends/bands I've been getting by saving the project and restarting SONAR with new drivers to lay down vocals, guitars, synth stuff, etc. Now I am starting to get rather annoyed with this process. I know I can just plug the analog outs of the POD and the SH-201 into the 1820, but I still wanna know.... Is there any way possible to use these three (or any two or three) products with their own drivers without having to restart Sonar? TIA...

Maybe - connect the SH-201 through E-MU MIDI/Line I/Os (it's not necessary to use USB for that even the MIDI I/O is better then). and - asio4all drivers for POD XT and E-MU (I don't know if this works even it's said to) or (least you can try) - input the POD XT (and SH-210) signal(s) through some other software and use E-MU PatchMix routing capabilities to get the signal from there into Sonar (if this is possible) --- VSTHost, Reaper (you can use ReaRouteASIO for routing w/ this software), etc. or - input the POD XT (and SH-201) signal(s) through some rewireable software and use Sonar rewire capabilities --- Reaper, FL, etc. Junski

Junski has some good ideas, but isn't there any way to use multiple ASIO drivers a la fois?

Well eat my rye with another old guy...that just sucks since the POD and the Roland only have ASIO as an option...here's to future ASIO interoperability!!!

I seriously doubt that Steinberg will implement that into ASIO anytime soon. BUT, if you ever get WaveRT drivers for them, then you could use them together. It's like CoreAudio for windows!

ORIGINAL: jinga8 Hey ooble...are you trying to drag me into one of those "positive", "negative" "amorphous" Vista threads? Damn you!!!! no, just stating the facts! Actually, there's so many random Vista threads it's quite easy to get lost, and forget which thread you're in these days!
