problem with editing clips

Hello,
I'm trying to edit some audio clips in Home Studio 2004, edit down a live music clip. I'm having trouble making a selection in a specific point in the track. It seems like it will only allow me to make selections in 1 second increments. I need to make some very precise edits. When I click on the pane it defaults to the left or right. I have tried various suggestions from the help menu, but am wondering if I have something setup wrong.

Any suggestions?

If you are working with a single stereo track, SHS will do the job. You might need to zoom in and split then slip-edit the clips. That will work just fine or you can use a tool designed expressly for the purpose of editing audio, a free example would be Audacity.

    Hi Jimmyo,

Make sure you have 'Snap-to-grid' turned off, that could be your problem.

    Thanks Jamesg!
That was it, the snap to grid was turned on.
    What a relief
    Thanks again.
