Track Layers

I'm a new user trying to use track layers to comp an acoustic guitar instrumental, I record the takes OK and they all go into their different layers, I watched the video on youtube about comping the guitar solo, but he doesnt say how he is doing what he is doing! I figured out the crop tool and I think I know how to get the mute tool to work, but my problem is that each layer has a mute/solo button and only one layer will play at a time. There must be way to get rid of the mute/solo buttons or to enable all the layers to play at the same time, can anyone help please?? Thanks in advance!!

If you want all the layers to play at the same time then you just disable any layer mute or solo button.

I believe I understand your post correctly...

In addition to the mute/solo buttons for each track layer (note that all of those buttons can be off), you can mute/unmute individual clips by right clicking and choosing from the context menu or selecting the clip with a left-click and pressing the q key.

No doubt though, track layers can get confusing....

Thanks for helping, I have no idea what I was doing wrong before, but now when I try it I can get more than one layer to play... I thought I'd tried all the combinations of buttons but maybe not. Anyway, thanks again and sorry for asking stupid noob questions!!
