Finding Missing Presets & VST's (SOLVED)

I'm sure the collected brain trust can help me with this one. Just about every plug and softsynth has a way to choose presets. The synths are not too bad and usually show presets, but the audio plugs can rarely, if ever, find them. I've also noticed that some of my VST plugs never show up in the browser.
I have rescanned all plug ins and I can see the directory's being read. Most VST plugs register but some don't any very few of those that do register are able to find their own presets. Everything looks good in preferences, and the correct paths are listed. X1 just wants to ignore some of the information. I have confirmed that all the DLL files are in their respective 32 and 64 bit VST folders. Any ideas gratefully acknowledged.

It turns out that things were being scanned but not displayed. Cause, was the plugin layout file. Usually I don't use a lyout file but the X1 Producer had been selected and it was sorting the plugs by type and doing some other filtering. As soon as I disabled the layout file I could see everything. I tested about 8 plugs from different companies and every one now has presets??????

I really think we need a thread for all the quirky learning experiences that X1 has provided. What would we call such a thread?? Don't make me type it! THE X FILES - The truth is out there.
