Finished my new custom DIY workstation/mixing desk today!
I have a new daw system ordered that should arrive next week, I just got some new monitors, & a new computer monitor, so the old table I was using just wasn't going to be good enough for all this new gear. I looked to purchase but the prices are insane! So I designed & built this in about 5 hours yesterday & painted it today. I am stoked, looks great, works great for about $50 bucks worth of lumber & a few more for some paint.
Toughest part was getting the angle right on the upper shelf so the monitors would face in slighltly. As you can see I painted it grey w/ splatter black & then painted the top surfaces black too.
What do you think of it? I just had to show somebody!

Looks great Chuck. I like the splatter paint too.
I built mine too and it felt great to beat the crazy prices and get a design that fits.

Thanks guys! Yeah I love building/creating something from nothing, I like working with wood & building all kinds of stuff, I've done shelves, book cases, & my home entertainment center too (which I put alot more time into to make it perfect & appear store bought as it sits in the middle of our living room). I think that's why I love recording so much & have finally given up playing live to write & record more. I wan't to be able to show others what I hear in my head when a song starts to come to me, to create something from nothing.
