Fireworks on the 4th

NOT!

This year, for some obscure reason, I didn't see any fireworks. Not in town, not on TV and certainly didn't see any round here either.

Didn't even think about it. I don't recall hearing too many firecrackers going off either.

What's up with that?

City of Ft. Worth did not do fireworks this year to save money.  A lot of cities did that.  some private companies still did get permits and City of Ft. Worth referred people to the CATS (local minor league baseball) fireworks.

however, I did hear a lot of personal fireworks (which actually is illegal in the city limits as well as fireworks ban in the area because of draught).

I heard a lot of booms on Saturday and Sunday, but none yesterday. I expected to see/hear them on my 8 pm drive home from work yesterday, but it was raining.

We had THOUSANDS of booms around here (the good stuff is legal in Washington), but I could only last about 30 minutes outside before my eyes got red and scratchy from the excessive pollen in the air... *sigh*

We saw tons of fireworks. We drove toward town and parked on a dirt road and sat there with the headlights off watching roughly 6 farms, and the 2 towns setting off fireworks. Everywhere you looked you could see them going off in the distance.

The show the one town put on only lasted 11 minutes, normally it goes for a good 20 or so. They cut back, but didn't eliminate them completely.

You guys should have been around here... it was like a war zone for a good hour or more.  Our dog was shaking like crazy, and she's hardly afraid of anything... even Bapu didn't scare her when he visited.

Does the fact that you pinned up a photo of me next to her bed for a month before I arrived have anything to do with that?

    Not the vuvuzela pic though.
