First Post - Hs7 bugs

Hello...

First some background on me. I've been a user from HS2002 on. I also have P5, GS, K2 and some other CW stuff. I'm not a beginner. I own and use many other sequencers. I have a fast single core system with plenty or ram and a 24/96 audio card. I'm very active on KVR and have been producing computer based music for 6 years, I've just never had a reason to join the CW forum before now. Ok.. That's done.

_The interface is nice but there are a lot of features missing.
_I get snaps, pops and crashes with a minium (4) of tracks and a few effects. 3 instrument 1 audio.
_Not only does the (very touchy) audio engine stop for no good reason. Hs7 hangs and dies.
_Dragging a pattern from a track into the track area where there is no track crashes hs7.
_Sometimes a track will just stop playing. Save and restart gets it back.
_Trying to delete the first effect in a chain.. deletes the entire chain.

The first day I got it, I never got the chance to close the program properly before it crashed on me. After 5 or 6 crashes, I quit for the day. I keep trying but I keep finding new ways to crash it. It's a huge let down. Not what I expected at all.

I hope that there is an update soon that will address some of these problems. As it is I can't use or recommend hs7. Thanks for your time.

More disconcerting news for SHS users...

Welcome to the forums, efm (Tom)!

Another thread related to SHS7 issues was started yesterday (or Saturday?). It can be found HERE. Perhaps you might want to post the issues you're having on that thread. Maybe the "bakers" will have a look at it soon.

    Regards,
    Papa

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should but I don't have the time or patience to beta test yet another sequencer. I think I'll just chalk it up to "I should have known better" and avoid the frustration. If there is an update, maybe I'll give it another chance.

    Thanks again.

Unfortunately, the "beta-test" phase has lapsed...It's now an "official" release...Some "fixes/updates" have been promised...Exactly what improved functionality they will provide has yet to be determined...An update "patch" for SONAR 8 is scheduled for release this week...Perhaps an update for SHS7 and 7XL won't be far behind...

    Hi there Tom, welcome aboard.

As Papa says, it would be really helpful if you post your findings in the thread he gave you the link for - that way everything will be together when Cakewalk come and take a look.

This illustrates the reason I prefer to wait a year, and let others work out the bugs before I invest
