First Song on GTP3!

Finally finished my first song.
Sounds okish. Have submitted it to soundclick (duff notes and all) but gotta wait to be cleared.
If anyone is interested (and could do with a good laugh) I will post the link if it gets cleared.

Seems to be a bit distorted I think cos of being converted to mp3. sound quality is fine in wav btw (for my crappy soundcard anyway).

Hey Mike.. just finished listening your song.. just one little thing.. you need to mix it down again with less master volume, it's distorted.. try to keep the indicator on 6db or lower.. really cool song.. you can play man let me know if you fix it so I can download it again..

hey. mike,, good playing, but ja, your mix volume is way to high.. that accounts for the distortion. I try to keep my mixes right around the 0 db, as a norm, then if I need to increase anything, I can just a tad and get it with out any distortion.

When all is gone, one voice will come forth.

    many thanks guys.
will see what i can do.

Do you mean that I have to lower the vol of the track I am bouncing down to or all the track masters before I bounce down?

    cheers

    Great job !!
How did you get about cutting the distortion ??? like you pointed out in your last post did you just lower the bounce mix-down or did you lower the actual tracks ??
    Anyhow, great song !!

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I solved the problem by remixing with ALL the track levels down and not way up. (around
    -10db)

I gotta be honest I hadn't got a clue about the mix levels before.
Just thought with everything up it would be nice n loud.
Gonna stick to everything down now.

    As I said, thanks again!

Many thanks Gonzalo, you are too kind!

Did have an old loop cd around the house but am having a right game finding the bugger.
good to see that you are an EVH fan.
He's the reason I started playing the guitar.
Still can't play like him though

Anyway if you haven't tried this site out it is well worth a look.
Some very good accurate transcriptions (mostly from US guitar mags) and a very good feature on EVH gear. Well worth a look.

Hey Mike! Really cool site you gave me..
No rush for the loops.. I borrowed "fruity loops drum machine" from a friend... seems complicated, do you know it? will it be usefull?

Yesss Eddie is the reason I fall in love with my guitar.. the first time I saw him soloing on Hot for a teacher's video walking through the bar's counter

I remember that I sold my strat ( a cheap one ) and bougth another guitar with Floyd Rose.. hahaha.. and after trying for a month or so..and after several complaints from neighbours/family about those annoying sounds I was doing with my brand new floating tremolo I said.. well, the guitar was not the problem, that guy really plays hahahahahahhaa

I posted my first song but still not cleared ... still waiting
