Brilliant stuff Bats. Have to give you full credit for doing all this yourself, and putting such care and attention into the writing, arranging and performances of all these tracks. Quite some work you did here (that's English understatement.. ).Great track. You may have been asked before, but how do you track/program your drums? Apologies if they're played live, I often can't tell these days.

thanks james! for listening and commenting... drums: i use live drums, drums i program using Superior Drummer, and drums i write using Sony Acid. this particular track, is the Sony Acid. the only problem with Acid, is i end up getting only a 16 bit stereo file at the end of it, and i'd like a chance to actually MIX the drums after i get thru tracking, in this case, i have to "MIX" the drums by themselves, and hope i get it right! LOL most of the other drum tracks on the new album are Superior Drummer. i take the closest loops of grooves and fills, and edit almost every one. i build custom kits, and re-tune lots of them. easy to do with superior. i NEED to get off my @SS, and build my ultimate kit, using X-Drums. my next task. i've kinda been holding off of diving into it, because i need to update ALL my software, and i have not updated my PC and O/S yet...

Hey, I got it, (but not IF it feels offensive) we could call Batsbrew Batsy, as in Batman. Although, Joker, who invented the name was quite a strange fellow, he still had good taste in names. Or has he already been called that? I tried to check it from the internet, but found no reference of that.

Nice changes on this. I like how you were doing some nice shredding in the beginning, and then progressed to a more bluesy wah solo in the middle. Stellar work as usual Bats. Mix sounded nice.

leadfoot, yea, there are some fleet of foot stuff at the beginning section, originally i thought that's the way the whole thing would go. this song actually came from a live jam i did, and the main electric rhythm in the beginning is the same track, and the solo section it morphs into, was a jam section, i re-recorded, but the bass track, and of course, the drums, are the same as the very first time i played it. in fact, that's where the name of the song came from..... it was the very first song i recorded with my newly refurbished USACG custom super strat i had re-built after a flood damaged the finish on the original body... this guitar, and the speakers and mic setup, is what i used to track it:

Classic BB. Great stuff, as always. Guitars are wide and crunchy, and the playing is right on point (love the wah). Is that real bass or samples? It has a cool five string groove going. And the vocals? Well, I only wish I could do something remotely similar... but I'm pretty sure most cannot.

thanks for checking it, steve.... the bass is real.... it's a Carvin LB70, into a sansamp bass DI, split to my mesa boogie guitar head, both signals blended. it's a regular 4 string, but it sounds deep.

Hey Bat, got your album a while ago, haven't had a chance to listen yet. I'm making time today. As far as commenting on the production quality, what am I going to say. You are the confirmed master. Guitar magician extraodianrio. Now, as far as what I would like to hear is, on the next album "turn the vocals up a little bit." Not a lot, just a wee bit, you have a great voice to go along with your virtuoso guitar playing, give it it's due. Once I hear the whole album I could consider my comment null and void. But that is just me, and all in all it is a kick a$$ piece of work. Later Jesse Q. Screed

Hey bat. Great job. It is so easy to say "great job" and "sounds great", etc. We don't always have time to really comment. I realized listening to this final rendition that with all the forum's discussions on EQ, compression, mixing, soft tube, hard tube, etc., it really does not matter to the end result as much as the song, lyrics, playing and arrangement. In your songs and in this one, your creativity is what makes it shine so brightly. You could have used a hundred different VST's on it and I don't think it would have much of an impact on the final result at all. You have everything mixed right in the pocket. Bass to hi's are all balanced well. The track rocks and so does the mix. So it is that after one nails the general presentation, what is left is the music. What you do with our music is totally awesome and super high in thought and creativity. That sets you apart from most IMO. So here's to you (again) bat. You amaze me not for the "sounds" of your music but for the writing and playing. Those things speak way beyond the technical "it sounds great" comments to me. I continue to say it - "You should have been a rock star". Merry Christmas!

hey jesse, thanks for supporting me with the album purchase, i much appreciate it! yes, i think when you hear the whole album, you'll understand where the vocals are is where they ought to be. not like a 'karoake' mix, and not like a 'singer/songwriter' mix, but like a band mix. that's the goal.

thanks so much for the kind words, rimshot, you 'got' what i was going for.... yea, it's kinda geeky to go on and on about the gear, and techniques, and all that, but in the end, all that matters is the final outcome, so you seem to understand that's the goal, and i'm glad you dig it!

you know i had TWO of these guitars made... 2 bodies, anyway.. this one, was damaged in a flood, and i had a new body made, with new paint job, that is true vintage white. this one is more cream. this is a USACG build, all custom if you want the specs, i can post them
