Sorry it took so long to get back here, Mark.

Nice smooth jazzy sound. love the synths on this, but I agree with everyone you need some verb and some of the synth parts sound just a little too stiff.

excellent first post!

Bravo! First attempt? Well done! I too have used the effects that come with the samples. I will ussually add small amounts of effects to individual instuments, and then add the reverb to the entire mix all together, giving it the same resonance, making it sound more like it was performed live within the same room.

Hi Beagle. Thanks man. I just sprayed the roland down with some wd40 we'll see what happens.

Hey Tom. Thanks. You know the other night I was trying to apply different variations of reverb to each individual track to suit. I didn't even consider coating the mix as a whole. Makes sense. I'm gonna try that.

Priceless!!! Let me know how well that works!!!

just for my own info, did you record the audio from the roland or did you record MIDI and if so, what sampler/synth did you use?

Hi Beagle,

I used the jv 2080 for the rhodes and moog sounds. Yamaha p-150 for the piano. All audio.

Sounds good, nice jazzy arrangement, i really like the brush played toms. I thought the synth solo was very creative. Excellent work.
