First class upgrade
Hello, I apologize in advance for my English (I am French) and if this is not the right place to post this message. I received an email from cakewalk to upgrade my recently purchased X1 producer, to X1 production suite. I followed the instructions, and when I want to validate the following message appears: "An item in your cart Requires further Top validation: * SONAR X1 Production Suite - Free Upgrade (Download) Please contact customer service to validate your purchase history " I sent a mail to support cakewalk, unanswered today. The problem is that the promotion is ending soon and I do not know what to do. Someone would be kind enough to help me? Is anyone in the same situation? Thank you.

I was popping in here to ask about the free upgrade to Production Suite today, so rather than create a new post, I will append my query to this one... First, I upgraded to Sonar X1 Producer Friday 22nd June 2012. I wasn't really bothered about the free upgrade to Production Suite, at first, but some of the additional items provided have piqued my interest. So I was going to ask, has anyone received there e-mail from Cakewalk with details of the free upgrade. The answer to that is in the post above, so they are sending out the e-mails, but there is obviously a small delay. It's a shame that Bejn1978 is experiencing a further delay. But I am sure that if you purchased, or upgraded to X1 before 30th June then Cakewalk will honour that. Fingers crossed :)

Thanks for your answer Synkrotron, I send a mail to cakewalk support one week ago with difficulty. It's not easy to contact them apparently (only on there web-site). I hope that Cakewalk support will answer me before the end of june. So, I'm waiting !

The problem is that I can't check out my cart, and this message appears : ""An item in your cart Requires further Top validation: * SONAR X1 Production Suite - Free Upgrade (Download) Please contact customer service to validate your purchase history "

The item is currently in your shopping trolley, but you get that error when you try to go to checkout. I'm a bit slow, sorry. Is there not a contact number in your country, for a Cakewalk dealer. Or, now that Cakewalk is owned by Roland (as I understand at the moment), is there a local Roland dealer you can contact for help? Just wondering...

Bristol_Jonesey ^^^ Reported Hi, You have got me worried. When you say "reported," what exactly do you mean? I can only assume that you are referring to the link that I placed in my previous post, which is linked to an official reseller of Roland and Cakewalk products in France. I thought that was appropriate, considering the OP is French, and, when you live outside of the US and Canada, you can only contact Cakewalk by talking to dealers. I have just found a post regarding Terms of Service for participants of this forum. There is a link to the "TOS," but it redirects to the forum home page, so no help there. Here's the link to said post:- http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=98973 I would appreciate it if you would expand on what you mean by "reported." many thanks andy Edit:- Okay, I have seaa bit harder and found the forum TOS. I think the part that I may have violated is this:- "Advertising [font="'times new roman'; font-size: 13px; line-height: normal; "]Cakewalk does not allow any form of advertising, therefore promoting websites or products in the forum is inappropriate. Hyperlinks to 3rd party web sites are allowed only if they pertain directly to the discussion topic." It may be possible that I have made a mistake by posting a third party link. I will await the judgement of a forum Administrator. In my defence, the link I posted does actually pertain to the discussion topic and the link also goes directly to the X1 software page and the company is, as I said above, an official Cakewalk reseller.

It has nothing to do with your post.

Oh... apologies then. Was the spammers post removed? All I can see is Colin's post pointing directly to mine. You can understand my worry here... I'm a normal, and eager Sonar participant, and I was thinking for a moment that I may have compromised me brief tenure here. Back on topic then...

Yes CW removed the offending post. The spammer posted in a lot of threads. Bristol reported them when ever he came across one. You needn't worry you did nothing wrong.

Hi again, I just wanted to say that my problem has found a solution: my message was obviously noticed by cakewalk on this forum and they sent me an email which allowed me to download the upgrade. I want to thank them for that. I can see as a new customer that the sonar community is very active, and that in the end I found the solution by writing on this forum. So thank you all also. And stay tuned for new problems!

Bejn1978 I just wanted to say that my problem has found a solution That is excellent news. I raised a ticked regarding my upgrade and as of yet I have not heard back from Cakewalk. I might try calling my local dealer in the UK.

Latest update - I have just received an e-mail from Cakewalk advising me of my free upgrade to PS, which is fantastic. Only trouble now is that they are currently "Out of serial numbers," what ever that means... Hopefully I won't have to wait that long. I don't get home for a few hours yet anyway :) So much more to learn now hehe. Good thing about that is, it saves me from creating my usual musical drivel lol.

Hey, I am having the exact same problem that Bejn1978 was experiencing. When i go to checkout at the cakewalk store, after having added my free upgrade to Sonar X1 Producer edition to the shopping cart, i get the same thing saying that further validation is needed. I did notice that when I registered my Sonar X1 Studio edition, it did not show up in my registered products on the cakewalk website. I've already emailed support, but could that maybe be the problem? Thanks for any replies.

Ben you said you contacted "support" are you saying Tech support? if so, thats the wrong people and they will deal with your configuration issues etc.. them and customer service are not the same people are you sure it was http://www.cakewalk.com/support/contact/csr.aspx ? or you might contact roland in france, and they will pass on the message perhaps. calling them, well I would say use a calling card or skype.
