Ran a simple test so far. Loaded a 50+ track (with many UAD & Cake plugs) played the song from end to end without a glitch.

I happen to like the default color scheme (I am a fan of gray tones).

Overall, the layout will take some getting used to.

Isn't the whole point of the Skylight thingie that you can set the layout however you want it?  What's to get used to?

I've only played with this product for only an hour and I'm already in love. The work-flow enhancements are worth every dime. Anyone daring to make this upgrade better have an understanding spouse because they won't be seeing you for a while... :-)

I'm off to make more great music... (With ease)

    What's to get used to?

First off, I've spent less than 30 minutes with X1 so far.

There are some things that look and seem to act different (the FX bin in the track view jumped out at me; seems narrower) and I'm not well versed enough to know what I can change and what I can't (yet).

I expect to be ba_midi this weekend (devoted to discovery) and see what I like and don't.

I'm a minimalist at heart and don't cotton to making big changes in appearance in my apps. As some have said, it's about making music and (for me) not expending time on things like color schemes. Maybe this release will change that (since some wiseguy said it will change everything ).

So far with the learning curve I prefer 8.5 for ease of use & work flow.

Currently working with the FX chain features which I think is a great addition.
