First it was a drought...

Every small lake and pond in the region was dry and dusty.

Then it broke and it has rained a downpour each and every day for the past month.

Even the mosquitoes think it's too much and they have backed off their initial population explosion.

On the few occasions the sun has come out the humidity is a palpable 100%.

Oh yeah.

Time to stay inside and play music. ;-)

    Hi,

So my sister has been in France for 30 years, and she spend 6 months here with me ... and she complained about the rain, so much that I waited for the opportunity to get her ... she LOVES salmon (too expensive in France!) and she was complaining about the rain again and I got her ... there won't be salmon if there is no rain ... for the salmon to get back up to on its little river spawn place!

Around here, when the rain slows down, so does the Salmon crop!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Did I mention it's 90-100* Fahrenheit every afternoon?

Here we have a few days of rain and those ol' t'underin'boomers...and temperatures in the mid to upper 60's....last week? A few days of high 90's and 90% humidity...

Heck yes!  Cows need to be artificially beefed up and we all need to gain more weight, right???   Oh wait, I know...  Maybe we can use a few bushels as some very expensive gasoline!  Yeah, that's the ticket.

There is no drought here in NC.... we have had much rain and usually this time of year we have brown lawns except the area around the garden where the sprinkler overshoots..... but this year it's all green and there has been no need to water anything for weeks now.

I'm almost needing to cut the yard 2x a week.

The thunderstorms have provided much needed income from repairs to alarm systems that get hit. I've had more lightning related service calls to repair damage in this summer than I have had in the past 3 or 4 years combined.  It pays the bills and helps to keep me busy.
