First of all, excellent song and performances. Really like the style.
The mix sounds great except the vocal sounds detached from the rest of the track. Drop the vocal volume and maybe look at what reverb your using on the vocal and you have a hit

Good tune. I really like the instrumentation - I wouldn't touch that.

I think the parts could be placed with a bit more definition - They seem a bit centered. That guitar answer to the vocal (fa-mi-re-do quarter notes, which also begin the song) might be panned a bit more to one side or the other to add interest.

For the vocal, I would really like to hear this tune done with a bit more "grit", maybe what an over-50 singer sounds like performing the last song of the night in a smokey bar :)

I would take a look at the change in EQ and volume that occurs at 1:55 thru about 2:15 ("Greatest stories..."). I think trying to keep it the same or closer to what has gone before might work out better.

I like vocal harmony, and so will suggest bringing some in on the phrases just before the hook line "Some kind of Adventure this is" (which I would keep solo).

I like that song.  Very cool.

Ditto on setting the vocals into the mix a bit better.

Get a Wave editor and use it to trim the silence at the end. I use this one: http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html   It's free... be careful to un-select the junk that wants to install with it.... just say no...  get Wavepad. It runs in full mode for a while then starts bugging you to buy the full version. You can if you wish, or you can choose "run in demo mode" which allows trimming and conversion to MP3 and some other useful options.

Nice roots-y feel!   Mix sounds good here, the only thing that stood out little were some of the drum hits near the end that seemed to be panned far to the right, or maybe those were delays/reflections.   Either, good job.

    Thanks Steve!
I put the stairwell mic panned to the right a bit in the bridge trying to be creative, hope it's not too distracting to the song :)

Well you certainly have the beginnings of a well crafted song.  I can't comment much on the mix because I only listened to it on ear buds, but it seems as if you have some good advice from the others.

Keep tweaking the mix, because the quality of the song will carry a lot of weight when it comes to perception of others.

Very nice.....  Since it's "done" I guess it's done.... the vocals sounded good and much better than the first take.... I still have a small nit with the level of the vox.  I'd probably back them off another dB or two, and add just the slightest touch of verb to them..... that's just my personal taste showing through.

But  hey, as an alt-country tune, I think it works exceedingly well.  Very nicely done.

Hi Travis, really like this song and performances.

since you've declared it "done" you can feel free to ignore my mix advice, but I'd really like to hear the drums better, right now they all sound like they're in the room down the hall from everyone else!

I'd also like to hear some more low end - there's very little in the mix and it would really help to make the song stand out.

    otherwise - nice job!
