First second or so of record doesn't record

Hi all,

I arm a track, hit "r", and begin playing, but the first event doesn't get recorded, and I notice that the leading edge of the clip actually starts a little after where it should.  It's like it drops of the very first second of the clip and begins recording just slightly after that.

Any ideas?

THanks,
Eric

Eric, do you have your metronome enabled and is it set to count in for a few beats? If so, it won't start recording until the count-in is over. You should be able to adjust this in your metronome settings. That's the only thing I can think of that might cause this.

    Hi Danny,

Tried no metronome, with metronome, etc...no luck, that's not the problem :(  Thanks...

Eric: you mentioned metronome on and off...but did you go to your metronome options and check to see if it was set for count-in? See, you don't have to have the metronome turned on for that. For example, if you have count-in set up, you can start to play when you hit R and nothing will record until it finishes the count-in sequence. So if I had mine set up like that, I press R, start to play and it's in count-down mode, it is not going to record the first few seconds of what I play, understand?

Just check the options in your metronome by right clicking on it. If you see count-in, change that number to 0 (zero) and see if it helps you any. I've never heard of this issue other than the metronome thing I mentioned. If this doesn't help, I don't know what it could be man. I hope you can get it sorted and maybe someone else will chime in here and give you other things to try. Best of luck.

    Hi Dan,

Yeah, I tried 0 count - in.  No go!  Thanks so much for trying!  I hope someone else has a thought.  Not sure where to turn to now.  If no one else chiimes in, anything else you'd suggest?

    Best,
    Eric

This might depend on whereabouts in the timeline you're trying to record.

If this is at 01:01:000 then you might benefit from sliding everything out to at least measure 02:01:000

Another thing, have you got punch enabled? If you have, make sure your punch in point is in the right place.

Hey, thanks.  I do have it starting a bit in.  I need to check out punch; I don't think it's enabled.  Totally unrelated, I keep getting "Master is not assigned to any"  I think, outputs/inputs.  I have no idea how to fix it; have tried.
