First timer using Sonar

I recently decided to make a comeback into making my own music after a six year break and was planning to buy Sonar artist. My music comes from my own work but I'm also planning to do remixes of some songs and intergrate it into my own work just for fun. I've never used Sonar before because in the past I've used Magix. Now, since Sonar is available I wanted to get some initial thoughts on using Sonar Artist. Most of the music that I make has mostly piano, orchestral strings and some electric guitar in it, so alot of my inspirations came from artists like Evenescence, Eminem and Linkin Park.

    I've looked at some of the tutorials on CAKETV and it looks pretty easy to do. I wanted to get some feedback on Sonar Artist from anyone that has recently downloaded it. I have a Yamaha keyboard that I'm using as a midi, just to make it so much easier and faster to make my music.

    Do you have an audio interface? If you have one and a midi keyboard you should not run into too many problems at all with Sonar Artist. The focus is always on making music. Sonar Artist is very easy to understand if you take a few hours to initially get the grasp of the software. Various DAW's are similar in a lot of ways as far as recording, mixing and exporting for the most part. I highly recommend Sonar being that I've used Protools, Cubase and Presonus Studio One in the past. The Learning curve is not as difficult as the others and if you record an awesome sound, you get an awesome sound! Rock On!

    iv just recently got back into making music after a few years gap & i opted for Sonar 3 months ago & to be honest i havnt looked back since not only only does the product produce in all aspects but also the help received in this forum is second to none

    Sonar Artist is plenty powerful but it is a little bare in terms of included (quality) sounds and some of the more advanced features (e.g. Melodyne). Of course instruments and samples are available elsewhere too, but if you don't have anything yet, Sonar Producer is actually really good value despite being a lot of money.
