Fish's review of his new album
From his Facebook status update today: I listened to the full playback of the first full mix of the album yesterday.
It's the finest piece of work I consider ever having being involved with and if I was to die tomorrow the smile would still be carved on my face.
Calum has done a production that in my honest opinion comes close to eclipsing anything I have done before and is beyond superlatives.
It is in the now and it is here in all it's glory. You may think that in recent months that the broadcasts from here have been a build up to a phantom pregnancy and bearing too much expectation.
I say here now with hand on heart that "A Feast of Consequences" is 68 minutes of sheer brilliant emotion.
I found myself crying last night when we played it back in the studio.
And what we listened to was the first full mix, before the polishing, before the mastering.
It's stunning.
I sure hope it's not crap

I cry when I listen to my own music too. Sometimes I throw things.

Hi, I would not be surprised ... if it is good. He has gotten better from day one, and I really think that by the time he is done he will have surpassed Peter Gabriel with all his money! With much better and more satisfying material and music!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Welp...since I haven't got the foggiest who Fish is I'm not qualified to judge anything at all about his music. Although if he is anything like my ol pal Pete Gabriel like Mosh alludes he's just another self absorbed navel gazer. HOWEVER... When I read anyone waxing up a sheen extolling the brilliance of their own work my inclination is to get as far away as possible from them AND their so called art. But, in the interest of fairness, guess I'll mosey over to YouTube and give him (her...it...them??) a listen.

Dern. I was right. But from the few different videos I watched (1988 to now) he does seem to have a rather ardent following. Big in Blighty?? In the 1988 vid at Wembly I thought he looked and acted like a mashup of Phil Collins and Peter. And then lo and behold there was a shot of Phil playing drums for him. Wordy.

I guess he's most famous for being in Marillion in the 80's, their most famous song being Keyleigh:
