I don't think John's answer is correct. I use Fit Improvisation all the time, and, yes the tempo view changes as he states, but the ruler DEFINITELY changes to reflect it. The music sounds the same, but the note events move to the correct place in the measure/beat.
That's not quite right, either. The time ruler will not budge. The length of MIDI and Audio clips and the location of events in them will change to fit the time ruler. Under the hood, it's the relationship between M:B:T time and absolute time that's changing, but since M:B:T time is the fixed visual reference in SONAR, the clips have to morph visually to fit the tempo changes.
Also, note that the reference track will not change its relationship to the time ruler. It's "sacrificial", which is why you don't want to use a working track as the reference.
