Flash Sale for the feature-length video Mixing in Mixbus v2 - Country - only $5!
FYI: Just received the email. This product is delivered as a digital download. Click here to purchase this video at the Mixbus store. This offer ends Saturday, May 17th! Looks like it is around 2 hours long. For 5$ I bought it just for the instruction and any tips but not sure if I can listen to the genre that long... Have not watched it yet so I have no idea if it is worth the 5$ or not.

THE BEST 5 BUCKS I EVER SPENT! Very informative and just what a beginner needs to understand how these tools are used in a real world scenario. This video series contains many of the tricks I learned over a period of years working as an engineer and co-producer. My hats off to the folks at Mixbus.

I like the video as well. The only thing I don't like is never know where the GD pointer is. It's annoying! The manual isn't clear, for me anyway, on where things are since they used like colors to name the different parts.

These videos are going to require more than just one watch for me to fully digest. He managed to clean the drums up using just one additional plug to remove tom ring where I would have used a few... I'm enjoying my $5 investment.

I've watched one video and I have a question. This will probably be answered later, but I need to go to bed! He only turned the master button off on the drums? I would think that everything going to a bus...guitars, vocals, keys ect. would need that master button turned off so the signal would go through the bus before the master and not at the same time. Am I wrong?

My head is full right now so I'll have to watch that again. I do know he ended up using all 8 mixbusses.

Maybe that was for a "Parallel" Dry to the Master and a Wet "Bus" to the Master type effect thingy... I'm just guessing...I haven't seen the video...but that's what it sounds like...to "blend" the two... But what do I know???

In the second video he started to solo the drums and found his masterbus mistake and corrected it.

I guess that explains it then...

I do like the video series very much but I have to say that I am not a big fan of slamming the compressors as hard as he does. I try to make sure in my mixes that the dynamics are really allowed to flow up and down with the emotional contrast of the song. This gives the impression that the instruments are weaving in and out of the mix among each other creating a very subtle texture to the music. I do slam it pretty hard on the rock and pop projects. Just not as hard as he seemed to be doing.

I have to agree about the compression. I think -2 or -3db of gain reduction is enough but it depends on the sound. He should get himself a headset instead of using a mic stand. lol!
Well worth the $5 though.

Great! I thought I was missing something. I've only watched the first one, but this will be a big help for me in getting used to Mixbus. I wish the video quality was a little closer to HD. If I make it full screen it gets a little blurry. All in all a good $5 purchase.

I noticed something in MB yesterday. There is a plug in called "hammer", or I think it's called that, it acts sort of like a transient shaper. It gave that breathing effect he was talking about on the smack, parallel compression, track.
