Folders Freeze-Up My Computer

Hi, I sure hope someone can help me. I've sent several messages to the techies over the last month but haven't received a reply. Here's the problem, which happens in XI and X2 producer: Every time I set up a folder in the track view the entire program freezes up to the point where I have to shut down and re-start my computer. I'd really like to use folders but obviously can't until this problem gets fixed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance--Mike

Ive had a Folder problem once but I use them every project so I just figured it was a fluke or something.

It was a mess when it occurred. For me it was removing tracks from the folder and then creating a new one and reinseerting the tracks back.

Nothing like a freeze problem that I recall.

Hope ya get some relief soon, I know its frustrating especially when you have a mess of tracks your working

Hi Mike, Thanks for your replies. I'm running Sonar 64 bit. I checked my processor info. There's some scorecard which states a score of 6.2--whatever that means. This sure is weird. Everything else works great. I wonder if I should transfer all my music files to a separate backup drive I have. Mike

Well Im not a computer expert but Ive been around the forum quite a bit and watched as we went to 64 bit and how it really can load down a 4 gb system. Not sure if thats the case but definetly something worth looking at further.

Back up some of it to an extra HD might help a little.  I do know mine works better if I keep my external under that 50% full mark.

Do you have all the patches for X1 installed?

Since it seems as though you're the only one with this problem, it could have to do with your computer. I suggest running a disk scan, a memory test, and a full antivirus scan.
