Folders in the multidock?

I just had an idea that I think could be super useful. Maybe it's already been done and I just haven't found the feature yet but as much as I LOVE the multidock I think it would be nice to be able to create folder tabs in it. That way things can get tucked away a little neater. Like Step Sequencers all get dumped into one folder, effects in another, Soft Synths in another or have a folder for everything that applies to a specific track. Stuff like that. Whaddaya think?

Yeah, I think I get what you mean. At the moment, we just have tabs at the bottom edge of the Multidoc. You would like to see folder somewhere too, with the ability to group certain items in that folder. I'm trying to think what that would look like. You could make it so that the tabs themselves are the folders, and when you click and hold on the Folder tab, you are presented with a list of items that are within the folder, whether it be a PRV or Step Sequencer or Soft Synth properties window.

Console View wouldn't need to be in a folder, so that would remain the left most tab.

You would then need to decided whether each folder contains just PRVs, Step-Sequencers or Synth Props. Or, like you said, you could use folders to contain all the items associated with a track, and a track would have a PRV, Step Sequencer and Synth Prop.

    That's my thoughts anyway ;^)

Yeah, it's not so bad just yet but once I start loading that sucker up I can see it becoming a real pain to pull up what I want. I may have to just start closing out those tabs and recalling them when needed but that's kind of a pain. Especially when I am looking at what I want in TV or something and have to move the screen elsewhere to call up a dock tab. Might also be cool to have a "Size" recall for independent tabs so I'm not constantly resizing the dock to get at functions when I switch to another tab. Just thinkin' here while I sip on my morning tea.
