Folk guitar samples

I write all my music via notation in the Staff View of Homestudio and use GPO and VSL for my orchestral samples. I now need an authentic sounding folk guitar sample that will work the same way as GPO and VSL. Any suggestions?

PS. Even a church mouse has more money than me so cost is a serious factor!

Very many thanks
Malcolm

Did you try the ones in TTS-1? The price is right.

Also, try searching for free soundfonts. You can play them with the sfz soundfont player (which is also free)

Dave – Very many thanks. Sorry, I should have stated what my setup is. I use Homestudio 2004 XL. As far as I can see (and I may well be wrong!) I do not have TTS-1. Do you know where I might be able to find it as an add on as a Google search turned up nothing? I have been thinking of upgrading to HS7. Do you think this is the right way for me to go to get the instruments I want or is there another way?

Boten – Very many thanks and I have downloaded SFZ. Looks good. Are there any sources of free sound fonts you might have used in the past that you would recommend?

    Best Regards
    Malcolm

You'd have to upgrade to SHS7 in order to get TTS-1 - it's a DXi created by cakewalk/Roland and packaged with cakewalk products starting with Sonar 5, IIRC.

if you can understand and use SFZ, you can get some decent guitar samples from http://www.soundbrewer.com
you'd want the SOUNDFONT version to run in SFZ.

Beagle, Boten – Very many thanks. Great links. Now all I have to do is get EWQL Symphonic Choirs to sound like a Celtic folk singing lady!

    Again, sincere thanks

Hi tupacalypse09 - Oh My, this is certainly a blast from the past! Very many thanks for the suggestion. Much appreciated. In the last five years, I have managed to scramble together a few pennies and now use Music Lab's Real Guitar 2L and Real LPC. Does the job for me!
