My friend Morty stopped by today, and, as is his habit, he brought a nice guitar for me to experience. This one is patterned after a circa 1940 Gibson L-O. He has been partnering with a local woodworking enthusiast by specifying all the details, supplying all the wood and parts, and commissioning the construction of guitars. This is number 4 of 6 that he and a local fellow have made happen. It is amazingly light weight and so it just sings when you touch the strings. It was a real pleasure to get to play such a lively acoustic guitar. It's the kind of guitar that players love but that you will rarely find displayed at a store. All the wood pieces are as thin as you can get away with and the bracing is very lightweight as was the case during what a lot of acoustic guitar geeks call the "golden era" of acoustic guitar building. It felt fragile and sounded confident. The small body size is really nice. The guitar sounded very even across the strings. It was very relaxing to play as each string seemed to have similar volume so there was no need to compensate for imbalance with varying attack as I worked around the finger board. StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

The pre war Gibson acoustics are amazing. Mine is a 32 L-OO and it's the best guitar I've ever owned. Mine looks very rough and every inch a player of 82 years old. It weighs about 2 lbs and is very loud. I wish I was a finger style blues player so I could do it justice.
