    WOW.

This is incredbly moving and superbly performed.

So much passion in the vocals and very appropriate words that convey the futility of war and the affect it has on people.

    Just beautiful.

    Thanks, James
There are a lot of newer people here that didn't get to experience this song back when you originally posted it.
I loved it then, and it remains a favorite (obviously).
    Excellent version, by the way.

    Appropriate James nicely performed.

Lets remember all those lost to us today, not just those lost due to mans complete inability to remember the futility of conflict and war.

It is after all one world and we are one people.

Always an honour to listen to this moving and emotional masterpiece - it never fails to send a shiver or two down my spine.

Its poignant message is perfect when we're all remembering those who have so bravely laid down their lives for our freedom. Please carry on posting it at this time of year mate

This is such a deep. moving piece, James, Tim, and Bill.....

    Rightfully so.

A haunting and mounful image is produced, along with the respect/homage to those it is due.

John, Grant, Bob, Scotty, BiabDude, Gary, Wookiee, Steve, Larry - thanks guys, and thanks for the suggestion Bob.

Steve, I'll make a habit of it, no problem.

Funny to think Tim wrote this 5 years ago, before I even joined this forum. He really has a knack of taking huge subjects and distilling them down to an everyman scenario.

Nice to hear Bill's lyrical keyboard playing too, about time Tonecarver made a return..

prob my fave AS tune...still makes the geese bump...a shame Tim went off on his own thing, though i did listen to some of his stuff you pointed me to James, and it's not a million miles away...but misses your magic.

I made point to myself to remember to check back for AS songs even if I wasn't active out here. Of course I forgot. Shame on me. This song reminds me of why I love this band. All I can say is it's just beautiful all round.

Never heard this before - so thanks for re-posting.

Always wondered what SMB with vocs would sound like and now I know. The ambience here is just about perfect, the oboe parts in particular. Having grown up with my sisters attempts to play the oboe, it's an instrument I geberally tend to overlook in my own work (too many painful memories !) but as demonstrated here it can be a quite beautiful instrument.

Really nice piece which I hace downloaded for future listening pleasure, so thanks for sharing.

Thanks Daryl, I'll pass those comments on to Tim.

Paulo - thanks a lot. The oboe was actually a sample played on a keyboard. Bill Davies has a nice collection of samples like that.

Joshua - thank you. Cheap and cheerful as far as the vocal set-up goes - a Samson C01 condenser into an Art Tube pre-amp.

This is great!!!! The vocals on this are amazing, I like the change around 1:50, perfect!

A very moving song, one of the best I've heard on here no doubt about that.
