Force aim-assist to track the beginning of clip, and another question

Main question: Is it possible to force aim-assist to track the beginning of the clip, no matter where you click on it? Registry setting?

Also, for some reason I thought X1b was getting back the little box that told you your position (without using aim assist). It is in staff view. Why isn't it in track view? That was a no-brainer essential tool for audio editing.

Maybe it is back, and I just haven't figured out how to display it.  Advice?

Again, aim-assist is fine, but that old little box did that out of the corner of my eye without a glopped up extra line and numbers superimposed awkwardly over the time ruler.

I'd actually like to have both.

Aeosus - I don't know what you mean by "force aim-assit to track the beginning of the clip."  With snap off, Aim Assist will be wherever your cursor is, down to the finest increment.  If you want it at the beginning of a clip--you just go there. --- ?

If you click on the back half of a clip, aim assist follows the rear edge of the clip.

If you click on the front half of a clip, aim assist follows the front edge of the clip.

Wondering if you can force it to follow the front edge no matter where you click.  Important for large clips sometimes.
