Forgot to set my alarm last night

I set my alarm every day and have done for at least 20 years. Forgot to turn it on last night. I've often wondered whether I'd wake up at the usual time or just keep sleeping. Well I found out today. I woke up at 1:30pm. Was totally shocked when I saw the time. And you'd think I'd feel thoroughly recharged but no, I feel like death warmed up.

I haven't used an alarm for...dunno, decades. I wake up 4 or 5 times a night, get really, really comfortable about 6.30am...then have to get up at 7.

There's a cute New Yorker cartoon of two cats.  One says to the other *is over-sleeping really a thing?*  That's a knee -slapper!
