Forum Ambience

Armed with a hand-held recorder I decided to venture around the forums this morning with the aim of getting some impulse responses in order that I could do some voice overs giving a realistic impression of speaking directly from any of them.

What I came away with was rather surprising to say the least....in case you are wondering this is all true....honest...really.

Just click on the play triangle above the sample image to hear 'em

I haven't tried all of the rooms yet as I thought maybe my equipment was playing up when I heard these samples so I'm wondering what any of you's will come up with...

Perfect, and I'm glad you tackled that one rather than me...

That Project 5 place though I tell ya...all them flashing lights and strange aromas...I think what happens though is they send a moderator in there to sort it out but they don't come out for three days and when they eventually do all they can do is giggle through an inane grin.

Ya can feel the love in there for sure...hey you can even buy it off the doorman!....jus' kiddin' of course as I know for real that all them guys just say no.

    Sing after me:

They were gonna update Project 5....and then they got high,
They were gonna take it to version 3....and then they got high.
They were gonna shine it until it excelled
But got sidetracked by funny smells
Because they got high, because they got high, because they got high.
La la la la, la la la.

I must to confess to sneaking in to the P5 forum for a listen now and again, being partial to the old symphathizers..I don't post though, 'cos I feel like the nerdy git wearing an anorak in the nightclub..

    LOL

Yeah, it wouldn't be my money though mine sounds like 3 five pence pieces in a piggy bank currently...hey that sample sounds like a horse cantering on snow.

btw: Fog, I finally had a bit of time to play with eXode's Massive Synthesis refill, there's a patch under Combinator Patches/Sonic Waves/ called Beautiful Cyborg that belongs on this thread somewhere, I'm not sure where though. There's quite a lot of stuff on there that I didn't have before all the Mjolinor and Trance patches are new to me as is most of the Thor stuff. Awesome. Even the stuff I do have is all in one place now which is a cool thing in itself.

Mjolinor , I paid for a long while ago £20-£25 I can't recall.. I contacted eXode (Dan) and he thought I'd be angry..hehe .. I said nah was more worried that you got stitched up by the people who were selling it, as well he'd done a shed loads of freebies in the past. Although one of other packs he made was also commercial, and I didn't buy that one.

I'll have a listen to that patch..

as for my refills directory, it takes a stupid amount of hard drive space on my laptop maybe 30gb I guess. Some that I bought I wish I hadn't... others like Flatpack 1,2,3 / bitword etc. I use a lot.. Of course I use the props own stuff, as well they excell at sampling.

I told the guy who made bitword, he should port it to maybe Rapture or DP though.

Although it does make me laugh how some people totally discount things assuming just because their free they won't be good.

with flatpack it's funny because lapjockey called their synths "kilburn" and "boxmoor" and I commented on both as I know both area's. Their studio is quite local to me.. all of 10 minutes away.

but there are plenty of freebies that you wonder why they weren't commercial, a bit like Francesco's Muz3um.
